It is the second day of our training and
participants are now coping up with the blog business as each one tries and
makes his or her blog attractive by improving different features of his/ her
site. It is very impressive because it looks like the training is on point.
Participants are now able to establish
links with different bloggers thereby sharing information, visiting others’
sites and the like.…Wow! It is incredible.
As the ball is still rolling, participants
were able to know how journalists can do research via Internet and the
facilitator, Peik Johansson, insisted on several aspects to consider when doing
research. Above all, the aspects to consider first is that “think before going to the web”
and then “always monitor other news sites.” In due regard, when undertaking
research via Internet, one has to make sure that she/he chooses the right
search word(s) and avoid being too general to the undertaking, for example, if one
wants to know statistics of illegal fishing in Lake Victoria, one has to ask herself/himself
first, ‘is it Lake Victoria in Tanzania, Kenya or Uganda? Such an approach tells
that one has to be sure of what she/he wants to search for the right pieces of information.
In due regard, still there are more days to
go for the Internet training for journalism lecturers from St. Augustine
University of Tanzania (SAUT) that definitely will be such fruitful training
stint.
