Internet training for journalism lecturers kicked off yesterday
at Saint Augustine University of Tanzania, Mwanza. The day started by
participants introducing themselves while projecting what each participant expected
out of from the training. I found this part was useful because it allowed each
member to share his or her expectations openly.
Aspects that I liked the most included on how to create a Blog. At first,
I thought it is not easy to do so but after close guidance from the facilitator from the Finnish Foundation
for Media and Development, Peik Johansson, who also introduced
participants on how to create the blog, I realised that it only needs a minute
or two minutes to have the blog’s address and post it.
Another aspect I found important as well as interesting is about the
manner an individual can easily communicate and inform majority by using the Blog.
Such an undertaking does not need a company or institution(s). This was
revealed via use of www.alexa.com, for this
website is there together with other aspects that tell about the most popular
sites on the web. For example, via www.alexa.com, participants
were able to know about the most popular sites in Tanzania and wonderful
millardayo.spotblog.com ranked number five as among the most popular sites
Also I got chance to add my knowledge on how Internet changed societies.
For example, individuals can purchase different goods from manufacturers. This
tells the manner the Internet has changed societies.
The training will continue on Thursday, Friday and will end on Saturday
10th, 2016.
